Booking Confirmation
Your rental will only be valid after receiving our confirmation email (not the automatically generated one). Please check your TRASH & SPAM folder in case you do not receive our email within 48 hours. If you still haven’t received it, contact us at info@patmoscarsnikolakakis.gr
Driver’s age
The driver should be at least 23 years old.
Driver’s License
The driving license must have been issued at least one year before the pick-up date.
National Driving Licenses issued in the E.U. are accepted. Citizens of other countries may require an International Driver ‘s License and should check the current legislation, as failure to comply might result in the inability to rent a vehicle.
Minimum rental duration
The minimum rental duration is a few hours but it may vary according to the season and availability.
The minimum rental charge is one day.
If the renter wishes to keep the rented vehicle more than the agreed period, then the renter must contact us at least two days before the previously agreed vehicle return date and time and request an extension. Based on availability, our company may or may not approve the extension. A rental extension will only be valid if the changes are applied to the rental contract.
Payment οptions, Deposit & guarantee
Neither a deposit nor a guarantee is required for the vehicle rental.
Payment can be made upon collection or delivery of the vehicle, while there is also the option of payment directly through our website with credit, debit, and prepaid cards. We accept Visa, Mastercard, Maestro, Diners & Discover.
All payments made using the card are processed through the electronic payment platform of “Nexi e-Commerce” of Nexi Payments Greece S.A. and uses TLS 1.2 encryption protocol encryption with 128-bit (Secure Sockets Layer – SSL). Encryption is a way of coding the information until it reaches its recipient, who will be able to decode it using the appropriate key.
Cancellation Policy
In case of non-prepayment of the reservation, the reservation can be canceled at any time before the scheduled vehicle pickup time, but the renter must inform us in a timely manner.
In the case of prepayment of your reservation, no refund is possible.
No-Show Policy
If the renter fails to collect the vehicle within 2 hours from the agreed rental start time and date without any written update, the reservation may be canceled.
Late Return
The renter is obligated to return the vehicle at the exact time that is indicated in the rental contract.
If the renter returns the vehicle after the agreed return time and date without agreeing to an extension with our company, the renter will be charged extra according to the daily seasonal rate of the specific dates.
Fuel Policy
According to our fuel policy, the renter will pick up the vehicle with a full tank and will also have to return it with a full tank. This is the best way to ensure the renter that they will pay the exact amount of fuel that they have consumed and not more.
Baby, Child & Booster Seats
The child seats are available upon request and are subject to availability. In order for us to offer the most suitable seat size available, the renter will have to write in the comments section the age and the weight of the child for whom the seat is intended.
The first seat is offered free of charge while the additional seat is charged 3€ per day for all seat types.
Additional Drivers
A second driver can be added free of charge.
Kilometers
Our prices include unlimited kilometers.
Insurance coverage:
Third Party (T.P.) Insurance
T.P. insurance is included in the rental price of all vehicles.
The renter’s liability is covered for material damages, death and physical injuries to third parties.
Collision Damage Waiver (C.D.W.) Insurance with excess amount
If the renter wishes, we offer the possibility in some vehicle models for an extra C.D.W. insurance. This insurance is not included in the rental price and it is provided with an additional cost.
With the CDW insurance, in case of any damage, the renter’s liability is limited to the excess amount of 800€.
What is not covered by any insurance
- Damages to the interior or undercarriage of the vehicle.
- Damage to the mirrors or glass exteriors.
- Damage or loss of vehicle keys, tires, rims, hubcaps, child seats, or of any other accessory.
- Total or part theft, in cases where the theft was caused due to renter’s negligence. (e.g., forgot the engine keys on the vehicle, etc.).
Road Accident
In case of a road accident, the renter must immediately inform our company. The damages that are not covered by the chosen insurance, must be covered by the renter themselves.
Boarding the vehicle on a ship and Driving on an unpaved road
Driving on an unpaved road is forbidden and none of our vehicles are allowed to be transferred outside of the island of Patmos. If that happens, the renter will be charged €100, the costs to return the vehicle to the island and the rental days that the vehicle remains out of the office, until it ‘s return.
Traffic fines or other administrative sanctions
The renter is responsible for promptly settling any traffic fines or administrative sanctions incurred due to violations of the Greek Traffic Law. If a traffic fine or administrative sanction is received, the renter is required to inform our company immediately.
In the event that the vehicle’s registration plates are removed by the police or other authorities during the rental period, the renter must compensate our company without delay. The compensation amount will be determined by multiplying the total number of days that the vehicle remains without registration plates by the per-day rental price applicable during the current season.
Bookings and Vehicle Groups
All reservations are based on vehicle groups and not on a specific vehicle model. We try to provide to each reservation the chosen vehicle model. However, if for any reason the chosen model becomes unavailable, our company reserves the right to offer a similar model (same group –category) or a model of a higher category with no extra charge.
Pick-up and Drop-off Services
We provide free pick-up and drop-off services throughout the island, during our regular office hours (08:00 a.m. -08:00 p.m.). We transfer the renter from the meeting point of their choice to our office, where the contract is filled out and the vehicle is picked up. At the end of the rental period, the vehicle must be returned to our office and we will gladly drive the renter to any preferred place on the island.
